Last night, the Writers Guild of America announced their winners for Best Screenplays in film for 2013. A big win for Spike Jonze's touching love story Her, which won Best Original Screenplay, and Captain Phillips, which won Best Adapted Screenplay. Sarah Polley's documentary Stories We Tell won Best Screenplay for Documentary film. I really believe that Jonze will win Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars. It is very special and a modern, beautiful piece of work. The adapted category should go to 12 Years a Slave (not eligible here) or The Wolf of Wall Street. It is getting tight for all the non-acting awards, with the exception of Best Supporting Actress, for the upcoming Oscars. One month away.
