2014 GOLDEN GLOBE Nominations

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their nominations for the 2014 Golden Globes Awards. Not much here that upsets me other than so little attention for Ryan Coogler's Fruitvale Station. A lot of attention for 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle. A good bump for Ron Howard's Rush and for actor Daniel Brühl in the Best Supporting Actor category, also nominated at the SAG's. At least Robert Redford was not looked over this time. The Globes recognizes excellence in TV and Film, and usually is just a pushover, lets get the big celebrities in one room party, but they nominated a lot of good films here. Nice, for a change. The musical/comedy category is always funny, in that they usually add a terrible comedy or film like The Tourist (2011), but this year at least the films are quality films. Most of them could be comedies or dramas, so it is good they spread the attention out to some quality films and filmmakers. Although, I do not think I would categorize any of the those films as flat out comedies. Questionable categorizing. Here is a list of the film nominees. Enjoy.
